Transport in Garissa town was paralysed yesterday as matatu operators took to the streets to protest against “selective application of the law and harassment by the county government”. Dekow Tawane of Garissa Matatus Owners Association said they are opposing an order issued by the county government that requires them to operate from a bus park. “Why are we being told to operate from the bus park while our colleagues in taxis, buses and boda bodas have been allowed to continue operating within the Garissa CDB?
