A 30-year-old man found smoking a half roll of bhang has been jailed for six months by a Thika court. Jacob Muiru Gitau was convicted and sentenced by acting senior principal magistrate DA Orimba. Gitau was unable to raise the Sh10,000 fine imposed on him. He was arrested at Kamunyaka in Murang’a county on April 3. Prosecutor chief inspector Josephine Wambua told the court that police officers who were on patrol came across the accused person puffing a heavy smelly stuff. They stopped the accused and recovered the bhang. He was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic.
