MORE than 1,000 residents in Nyatike district have been displaced by raging floods after rivers Migori and Kuja broke their banks yesterday. The number rose sharply from Monday’s 380 displaced after the residents had refused to be moved saying they were used to the floods which affects the area annually when visited. “We accessed the area and called on the residents to move but most of them refused saying the floods will come and go even though their homes, crops and infrastructure had been submerged,” Emmanuel Robert, Red Cross official said...
