Trader denies forgery charge

A trader was yesterday charged in Makadara court with conveying excisable goods with counterfeit excise stamps contrary to the law. Joseph Chege Njoki, who is accused of committing the offence with others not before court, was found with 140 cartons each containing 20 bottles of 250 mls of Moonwalker vodka affixed with counterfeit excise stamps. He allegedly committed the offence on February 11 at Mukuru Kwa Njenga in Nairobi.
