AN ICC witness yesterday narrated how they were forced to stay in the forest to avoid attacks from the Kalenjins during the 2008 post-election violence. Witness 442 told the court that they fled their homes in Kapsabet on December 30, 2007 and went to hide in the forest when the violence broke out. The witness said that while they were in the forest, they could hear screams and sounds of gunshot but they did not know from what direction they were coming from.
