A child was on Saturday morning killed after their house was destroyed by a landslide at Kajonga area in Narok.
Kenya Red Cross Narok coordinator Ali Juma said the child's mother escaped narrowly and sustained minor injuries.
“The landslide happened at 5pm and the mother was saved by neighbours after she screamed but it was too late for the child who was already buried by the mud,” he said.
The body was taken to Narok District Hospital Mortuary.
Juma urged locals to move to safer grounds so as to avoid more catastrophes occuring as heavy rains continue to pound the region.
