Last Thursday Statehouse Mombasa played host to President Uhuru Kenyatta and other invited businessmen and leaders. The event saw entertainment by Safari Sounds led by Mohamed Izungu. The president mingled with invited leaders after urging them to shun politics and focus on development. Among those who attended the first ever dinner in Mombasa after President Uhuru Kenyatta was elected were Governors Hassan Joho, Amazon Kingi, Salim Mvuryia and Hussein Dado. Also present were senators Juma Boy Juma, Hassan Omar, Stewart Madzayo, Dan Mwanzo and MP Emma Mbura.
