An NGO has appealed to governors to factor in old people in their county budgets. Purity Elderly Care Foundation executive director Joyce Wanjiku said the amount set aside by the national government is not enough. Speaking in Nyeri town yesterday , Wanjiku said many old people are living desperate, miserable lives and languishing in poverty without proper health care. She said every person should enjoy the fruits of devolution. “Services that were (once) offered by central government are close to the people,” said Wanjiku.
