Alas! Despite celebrating Labour Day, this was no celebratory week for Kenyan workers. First, the Public Service Commission bucked the trend under the new constitution where there had seemed to have evolved a welcome practice that interviews to fill state offices (except perhaps in the disciplined forces and those that are the direct prerogative of certain constitutional offices) would be done in full public view.
