More than 35 families in a Murang'a village have abandoned their homes after cracks emerged on the walls. Representative Martin Mwangi said huge cracks have appeared on the walls and floors of more than 10 houses in Gatuva village. He said two houses are about to collapse after the cracks widened on Thursday night. Mwangi added that several houses have sunk after the heavy rains weakened their foundations. “We have experienced landslides and fear that this could lead to deaths if quick measures are not taken,” he said.
