Saccos to lend among themselves

SAVINGS and credit cooperative societies plan to start lending among themselves to help meet loan demands as members avoid higher interest rates charged by banks. Makadara District cooperative officer, Joseph Maiko has said demand for loans from Sacco members has become so high forcing some of the societies to decrease repayment periods for disbursed funds. "Let’s put our house in order, own our societies’ members should be asked to add more money in savings instead of having a back log or even decrease the loan repayment period.
