A 70-year-old man yesterday appeared in court for assaulting his 62-year-old wife on April 25. John Gathu Mwaura was charged before Gatundu resident magistrate court DM Ndungi at Gacharage village in Kiambu county for willfully and unlawfully assaulting Miriam Wairimu Gathu and causing her bodily harm. Prosecutor Kunga Muli told the court that on the material day at around 8pm, the accused went to the complainant’s house drunk and started hitting her on the head and abdomen with a walking stick.
