Kerio Valley Development Authority in conjunction with the government have installed a Sh15 million maize Sheller at Weiwei farmers Irrigation scheme in West Pokot county. Speaking yesterday in Sigor during the official commissioning of the Sheller, West Pokot governor Simon Kachapin said the program will help in reducing transportation costs of maize cobs to Kenya Seed Company in Kitale town for shelling. “Farmers in this region have been transporting the produce to Kitale town for shelling and packaging which increases costs," he said.
