The Cord coalition might not be able to participate in the vetting of the 16 people nominated to Cabinet by President Uhuru after it withdrew its MPs out of the parliamentary committees. Cord had asked all its MPs to pull out of the committees after it was unable to reach a compromise on the membership of the Public Accounts Committee and the Public Investment Committee. Cord has been insisting that it should have majority members in the two committees as a way of keeping the government in check.
