Kwale light project stalls as county seeks Kenha permit

TRADERS in Kwale market will have to wait longer for light as a street lighting project worth Sh8 million has stalled. The project was launched by Governor Salim Mvurya last August. Nurrein Mwatsahu, the chief officer for decentralised units and urban areas, said Kenya National Highway Authority stopped the project until it gives its permission. The project, awarded to Atomic Electrical Contractors, was to take six months. Kenha engineer Stanley Karuru said the county should write a letter to them as a formality for approval. “Once they ask for permission in writing... they will be allowed,”...
