Mt. Kenya Chargers scored an 8-wicket win over Maasai Mara Tuskers in the opening match of the Samsung Cricket Cup at Simba Union. Mt. Kenya successfully chased down their target of 118 after 14.2 overs, with opener Abraham Vadam top scoring with unbeaten 74. Tamish Sharma hit the winning runs and finished unbeaten too on 20. Earlier, Maasai Mara had posted 117 for the loss of three wickets after rains forced the umpires to reduce the overs from 25 to 15.
