Kenya Power and Lighting Company to replace oil transformers with dry ones to reduce vandalism. Speaking at a Gatundu hotel during the company's open day, deputy regional manager in charge of Mount Kenya South, Kennedy Chege, said the company intends to initiate the manufacturing of transformers locally in order to lower cost and create jobs for the youth. Chege said the company is in an extension plan of new technologies such as small grid so as to improve the performance of the electricity networks.
