THE Kenya Ferry Service has begun construction of two weighbridges at the Likoni crossing channel. The Sh18 million weighbridges, expected to be complete in two weeks, is part of KFS’ plan to improve safety at the channel. According to KFS communication officer Aaron Mutiso, the weighbridge project is part of the parastatal’s plan to regulate and monitor ferry capacity for improved safety.
