UNITED States International University (USIU) edge champions Co-operative Bank of Kenya 82-80 in over-time in a Premier League duel at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium. The “Tigers” who lost to the bankers during last year’s play-off finals got off to bright 25-7 edge in the first quarter and went on to tie 13-13 in the second. After the breather, Co-op took the third quarter 20-12 and the fourth 28-18, forcing a 68-68 deadlock in regular time. In the extra five minutes, USIU took charge, winning by a basket.
