Kiambu governor William Kabogo has defended demands of salary increase by ward representatives. Kabogo said the salary is not enough to cater for the representatives and their people. “Some travel from Nyanduma and Komothai Forest to Kiambu where the assembly takes place,” he said. “If he has to come every other day, he will spend Sh9000 a month yet he has a family to take care of. We expect them to leave whatever they were doing to serve people in the assembly." Kabogo was speaking at his office grounds in Thika where he flagged off three engines to the sub-counties.
