THE pre-trial conference for election petitions challenging the election of Chris Obure and Zebedeo Opore as Kisii senator and Bonchari MP respectively will be held on May 24 and 27. Kisii High Court Judge Ruth Sitati told the parties time is of essence and thus they were required to observe the same if the matters were to be heard and determined expeditiously within the stipulated time. Obure’s election is being challenged by a voter Charles Oigara while a loser in the Bonchari seat John Oroo Oyioka wants Opore’s election overturned.
