Ndhiwa MP Agostino Neto has proposed a constitutional amendment Bill to reduce the number of legislators in the National Assembly from the current 349 to 304 through a parliamentary initiative. He said the recently created 80 constituencies were unconstitutional and Kenya can do better with 210. The MP says the bill will help to reduce the wage bill by reducing the excessive expenditure by the government. “The amendment seeks to fix the number of MPs in the constitution so as to reduce wage bill,” Neto said.
