Law Society of Kenya chairman John Makali beat four contestants in the Bungoma speaker race to become speaker.Makali, who got 24 votes beat lawyers Caroline Khasoa who got 20 votes. The chief agent and campaign manager of Cord, Moses Wetang’ula lost in the first round of the election by only managing 5 votes.The race had shaped out as a supremacy battle between governor-elect Kenneth Lusaka of New Ford-Kenya and senator-elect Moses Wetang’ula of Ford Kenya .
