AN NGO has rolled out a programme in Nyanza region of using donkeys in ploughing land in a bid to increase crop acreage. The NGO concerned with the rights and welfare of donkeys, Donkey Sanctuary, yesterday rolled out a pilot project in Rarieda. Country Manager Duncan Ochieng Onduu said the project is geared towards training communities on how to use their donkeys in cultivating idle land. “This region is endowed with huge arable land which remains fallow and if put under viable economic activity will boost food production,” added Onduu.
