MACHAKOS lawyer Bernard Mung'ata won the county assembly speaker election after three rounds of voting. In the first round, Mung'ata was behind with 15 votes and Franklin Makola was ahead with 22 votes. Mary Muli, Micheal Musyoki and lawyer Anne Kiusya each got one vote. In the second round Mung'ata and Makola had a tie of 20 votes prompting the county assembly members to break for ten minutes amid intensive lobbying from both sides. After the break, the members returned to the chambers for the third round of voting where Mung'ata got 21 votes and Mukola got 19 votes...
