LAMU Drug abuse and misleading beliefs are the major contributors to poor national exam results, an official has said. Lamu East district education officer David Nzinga told the Star many students have “rotten” morals because of rampant drug abuse. Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Nzinga said drug abuse has damaged academic standards. “I want to urge parents to be very keen with their children. Let’s join hands in fighting drug abuse,” he said. Lamu East district has for many years recorded poor national exam results.
